Meet Your Inspector
Hi, I’m Joe, and my fascination with how homes work started early. At 13, I built my first workbench, and by 16 I had constructed a full garage for my parents’ Long Island home. That early curiosity developed into years of hands-on home improvement and renovation projects, which I pursued alongside a career centered on problem-solving and technical precision.
Before becoming a home inspector, I spent more than two decades in IT systems engineering. That background gives me a meticulous, data-driven approach to inspections. I view a home as a collection of interconnected systems – structural, mechanical, electrical, and environmental – that must function together. Combining real-world renovation experience with technical systems thinking allows me to recognize performance patterns, system interactions, and early signs of failure that others might overlook.

Why Work With Me?
Technical Precision
My technical engineering background means I evaluate your home in a methodical, systematic way. Every major system is checked for condition, function, and how it interacts with the rest of the home.
Ongoing Professional Training
As an InterNACHI member, I complete over 24 hours of continuing education each year, keeping current with modern construction practices and building science, well above New York State’s licensing requirements.
Clear, Actionable Reporting
Inspections are only useful if the findings are easy to understand. I deliver highly thorough, easy-to-read digital reports within 24 hours so you can make informed decisions without confusion or guesswork.
Independent & Ethical
I work exclusively for you. Not the agent, not the seller, and not the bank. My goal is to provide honest, objective insight and practical guidance. I am your independent advocate, ensuring you clearly understand the home’s condition so you can move forward with total confidence.
Family-Owned & Local
Modern Insight Home Inspections is a family-owned business, not a high-volume franchise. When you hire me, you get my personal attention and full accountability. I treat every inspection as if it were for a family member, providing a level of care you won’t find at larger, impersonal firms.
More Than a Checklist
My job doesn’t end when I pack up my tools. It ends when you understand the condition of the home and what it means for you. Whether you’re buying a post-war slab home on Long Island or a historic Brooklyn brownstone, I provide clear, unbiased information so you can:
You don’t just get a checklist – you get a playbook. Context, perspective, and the knowledge to move forward with confidence. I help you prioritize repairs, plan maintenance, and make informed decisions about your home.
The below certifications were acquired through home inspector training from InterNACHI®, above and beyond the standard training required by New York State.
