Roof Runoff Has Nowhere to Go on Lots This Tight
With limited below-grade buffering under the slab sections and small side yards, where the gutters dump water becomes a foundation question.

Thermal imaging is well suited to homes where insulation was added piecemeal as each expansion happened.
In an expanded Cape, the knee-wall pockets and the junction between original and added framing often show thermal anomalies where insulation is thin, displaced, or missing entirely. A cold band along a former exterior wall that’s now interior, after a rear extension enclosed it, is a temperature differential worth noting. Around in-slab heating remnants, a warm signature in a floor can point to an old radiant loop that was abandoned or partially capped during a heating conversion. These are surface temperature readings, not confirmed conditions behind the finish, and they get framed that way in the report.

Compared to Wantagh just to the east, Bellmore’s north-of-Sunrise blocks carry a denser concentration of expanded Capes on tighter lots, where Wantagh’s development ran a bit later and leans more toward ranch and split-level footprints.
