These are thermal signatures that guide where to look more closely, not confirmed diagnoses on their own.

Many capes in East Islip were expanded upward with shed or gable dormers, and the ranches gained rear extensions and expansion additions over the years. Each of those changes introduces a roofline transition, and flashing at those transitions is the component that governs how the roof performs over time.

Drone imaging brings these features into clear view without a ladder set against aging fascia.
