Hi, I’m Joe, the owner and inspector at Modern Insight Home Inspections. My passion for home improvement started young, inspired by my obsession with This Old House and other DIY television shows. At 13, I built my first workbench, and just three years later, I had constructed a garage for our Long Island home. These early projects ignited my fascination with homes and their systems.
Over the years, I’ve taken on numerous renovation projects, gaining hands-on experience in various aspects of home systems and construction. This practical knowledge has deepened my understanding and ability to identify potential issues. With a background in IT systems engineering, I bring technical expertise and a meticulous approach to every inspection, with a focus on precision and an eye for detail. I genuinely enjoy the inspection process and look forward to discovering new and unique (and sometimes surprising) aspects of homes every day.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling with my family, cycling, drumming, photography, and exploring new technology. I’m committed to helping you understand your home’s condition and ensuring it’s a safe, comfortable place for years to come.
Why hire an InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector?
In addition to being licensed as a home inspector by the state of New York and meeting the state training requirements, I am also an InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector.
InterNACHI inspectors are trained and certified by the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors, the world’s largest nonprofit association of residential and commercial property inspectors. InterNACHI provides its members with accredited training and education, free benefits, expert advice, and peer support – all to help them serve their homeowner-clients with the highest-quality inspections for their largest investments.
As an InterNACHI inspector:
My standard home inspection is an evaluation of the visible and accessible interior and exterior structure, systems and components. Your report will include my findings of any material defects I discover in an easy-to-read format. I will also provide my recommendations for monitoring, repair or replacement. My job isn’t finished until you understand everything in your report.
